Stand up for yourself! Keep these 6 points in mind…

1. You are entitled to believe and feel they way you do.

2. You can change your attitude by what you say to yourself-keep it positive.

3. Stand up for your rights but respect the rights of others.

4. Take responsibility for how you feel, what you do, and what happens to you.

5. Detachment-observe yourself in situations: How did you do?

6. Adults are responsible for their own actions, so don’t take it personally.

Don’t give up. Turn the negatives into positives.  If someone calls you bossy, take this as evidence that you have the ability to lead and make change happen.  Use this to build your confidence and as an impetus to refine your leadership capabilities.

There will be days when you feel like your best is not enough. There will be moments where you feel as though no one understands or hears you. That is ok. There is always a tomorrow. You will have a second chance to try again. I challenge you all to not be so hard on yourselves. We were all designed to operate in a certain way. It is not the end of the world if you do not meet your goal in the time frame that you created for yourself.  Being able to stand up for yourself may be easy in one situation and difficult in another.  The key is knowing that there will always be another opportunity to try again.  Just remember if it is too easy, you are not trying hard enough.
